Why Tummy Tuck in Tijuana?

You want a flat and sexy abdomen and we can give it to you. Here in Tijuana we have become experts in the tummy tuck, a procedure that’s designed to eliminate every inch of excess skin in this area of your body to help you get that smooth, firm-looking abdomen and improve your body contour in ways you can’t imagine.

What happens during the Tummy Tuck?

There are two types of tummy tuck for body procedures: the complete tummy tuck and the mini tummy tuck. Both surgeries seek to improve the patient’s body profile, the only difference is that the complete tummy tuck addresses a bigger area than the mini.

During the complete tummy tuck, our doctors make an incision from hip to hip at the lowest part of the belly. The mini tummy tuck, on the other hand, covers a smaller area and requires one incision below the navel and another one on the lowest part of the belly as well.

In both procedures, after the incisions are made, our surgeons adjust the muscles and remove all the excess skin on the areas, and then the remaining skin is sutured together.

Due to its nature, Tummy Tuck in Tijuana is often combined with other cosmetic surgeries such as a thigh lift, buttocks lift, and/or liposuction, both focused on eliminating any excess skin on the lower part of the body.

After the surgery, you’ll need to wear a compression garment to help the skin adhere to the subjacent tissue. It is also possible, but not mandatory, that our medical staff will have to place a thin tube under your skin to drain excess blood or fluid.

You must be aware that discomfort, pain, bruising and/or swelling may appear, but the medication prescribed by your doctor will help you control it.

Don’t forget to follow our medical staff’s instructions and to attend every one of your appointments. We need to work as a team to achieve the ultimate results.

(It is important to note that recovery specifications may vary depending on the procedure and the patient; our medical staff will walk you through the details of your recovery process.)

When can I resume my normal activities?

You’ll be able to return to your normal activities 3 to 4 weeks after the surgery.

Can I get a tan?

It is very important to avoid long sun exposure for a considerable amount of time after the surgery to prevent pigmentation on the scars. Depending on the procedure, your surgeon will tell you exactly for how long you must avoid this.

Should I consider a specific time of the year to do my procedure?

Depending on the chosen procedure, some recoveries do better on winter, while others do better on the summer time. Ask your surgeon for the option that better suits your case. You should also consider periods of time in which you’ll have time to relax, like the holidays, for example.
