INSURANCE FOR COMPLICATIONS
For our patients:
For more than two decades, we’ve had the honor of being a part of thousands of life-changing decisions. This not only fills us with pride and joy, but pushes us to be better. Since our beginnings, we’ve managed to maintain a very low rate of complications: only 1 in 54 of our procedures present difficulties, and we intend to lower this number even more.
BEFORE UNDERGOING A COSMETIC SURGERY, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE EVERY PIECE OF INFORMATION REGARDING ITS PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY PROCESS. YOUR SURGEON WILL HELP YOU WITH THIS.
Our surgeons’ experience, talent, knowledge, and master of modern techniques and methods, allow us to guarantee that our patients are in the hands of experts that will do their best to carry out each surgery successfully. However, it is impossible to guarantee specific results, because these depend greatly on the patient’s physiological characteristics, which will have a transcendent impact on the procedure’s effect and recovery process. (An example of this, is in the way people scar, or on how long they take to recover.)
Even though this is a reality, it should not be something for you to be afraid of, because our surgeon’s experience is also a determinant factor in your desired results, and they’ve been doing this for decades and are up-to-date with the latest techniques and methods. However, it is very important that you keep all this in mind before submitting to a specific procedure, whichever it is.
Another thing to keep in mind is that statistically, 1% to 2 % of patients who have cosmetic surgery experience unsatisfactory results.
It is very common for patients to confuse being dissatisfied with having a complication. These, however, are two very different things.
Dissatisfaction may be confused with complications when, for example, keloid scars appear, which depends on the person’s genetic. A complication is something that hinders your recovery process or puts your health at risk, it’s got nothing to do with physical results.
In most cases, the final results of a cosmetic procedure won’t be visualized until after 3 to 6 months. This will depend on the procedure, the patient’s ability to scar, post op care and other factors. Thus, if you’re feeling unsatisfied with your results right after you’ve had the surgery and are thinking of having a re-touch, you should wait at least this amount of time to see if you still want to go through with it.
It is important to have in mind that these disappointments are almost always due to unrealistic expectations, and that they are not product of any type of misconduct by the surgeon. Thus, the costs of these re-touches must be assumed by the patient.
Percentages of risk for procedures
Pending on the procedure the patient is undergoing, it’s highly suggested to acquire a complications insurance which is offered to the patient in our clinic, yet it´s completely optional.
If the insured patient suffers a complication such as a Hematoma, Seroma or if an incision opens as after a cosmetic surgery performed by Evoclinic’s surgeons in our facilities, then the insurance will cover all the hospital and surgical expenses incurred during the period of coverage of this insurance.
The insurance’s validity lasts six (6) weeks and begins coverage the day the procedure takes place.
