Once you’ve gone through the penile implant procedure, try to rest as much as you can the days following the surgery, this will help you recover faster. You may experience some discomfort, pain, bruising and/or swelling, but the medication prescribed by your doctor will help you control it.
Avoid intense activities such as sports or lifting heavy objects. Sexual activities can be resumed within a month after the surgery.
Also, if any suture, bandage or compression garment were applied, a) they’ll dissolve naturally, b) they’ll have to be removed by your urologist or c) you may remove them yourself when the doctor says it’s time; it depends on the case.
